The modern field gun when inexpensive doesn't mean "cheap" Our review of the Stoeger 20 Gauge Uplander Shotgun for quail and pheasant hunting

After more than 1000 rounds and multiple trips to the range and bird fields we've decided to write a review for our go-to field gun.

The Stoeger 20 Gauge Uplander Shotgun is a reliable and versatile firearm that is ideal for quail and pheasant hunting. This shotgun is built with a solid steel receiver and features a classic double trigger design that is both traditional and functional. The style is almost iconic and every time we take it out people can't believe how little we paid for it.

One of the key features of the Stoeger Uplander Shotgun is its lightweight construction. Weighing in at just 6.5 pounds, it's easy to carry around in the field, making it an ideal choice for hunters who cover a lot of ground. We have carried this shotgun for hours and covered miles in the Georgia heat and never felt the fatigue normally caused by heavier options.

The shotgun features a high-quality walnut stock with a sleek, glossy finish that looks great and feels comfortable in the hands. The stock also features a straight grip and a splinter forend, which provides a classic look and feel to the shotgun. The finish is high quailty although not on the same level of more expensive options, but that's okay.  This is definitely a high value shotgun, considering the price, the finish is phenomonal.

In terms of performance, which is where it counts, the Stoeger Uplander Shotgun is highly effective in the field. The shotgun features a 20 gauge chamber and a 26-inch barrel, which provides excellent accuracy and range. The shotgun also features a fixed modified choke, which is ideal for quail and pheasant hunting.

The double triggers on the Stoeger Uplander Shotgun provide quick and smooth firing action, which is essential for shooting fast-moving game birds. The shotgun also features an automatic safety, which adds an extra layer of security when handling the firearm.

Overall, the Stoeger Uplander Shotgun is a reliable and effective firearm that is perfect for quail and pheasant hunting as well as any other quick moving game. It is lightweight, accurate, and easy to handle, making it an ideal choice for hunters who cover a lot of ground in the field. The classic design and high-quality construction of the shotgun make it an excellent value for the price.
